first book out from echo. well, not really the first but i think the ppl who know me get what i mean... haha

uneventful, aside from the absentminded leaving of my eleven bee in my bag. haha. sgt eugene is really quite a nice guy, following me all the way back to look for it. haha. had a fairly interesting chat with him along the way abt how u treat the men in a unit as a commander, and how to command their respect rather than demand it. makes me think of the dxo and "good old" pani at tanjong gul. haha. newae...

did anyone see the photo of felicia chin in today's papers? hot man. and damn cute to boot. nosebleed material. haha. but she is rather absentminded, judging by the amount of handphones she's destroyed/lost/misplaced/"donated"... haha. oh well. feel like cutting out the pic like a typical army guy and pasting it in my bunk. ahahaha.

jo is leaving:( tonight. feeling quite bad abt not seeing her off but oh well. the demands of training to defend a country. haha.

and october is coming. sigh. i can't forget 6th october.

kong's bday was quite funny. haha. food was pretty good and all... the tributes seemed to move him and mama, and the song was, while cheesy, fairly laugh inducing. haha. i hear some ppl frowned on me giving him johnny walker though. must've been the older folks. blah.

makes me wonder... when i hit 80, what sort of legacy would i leave? would it be one where ppl are giving me tributes? or would it be one where i'll be all alone in an old folks' home? what can a man do to leave a history where people will write tributes to you? is it something physical or more of the way you conduct yourself? for a father to toil ceaselessly since 20 until all his children have flown the nest, is that honourable and tribute-worthy? or is it sacrificing life and limb for something you believe in? does one have to die before one is judged to have done something worthy? or jst the way you LIVE that is judged to be worthy... and how do you judge worthiness? something to consider...

newae, met up with jo today! haha. had a great time... dad-present shopping and jacking the salesmen.. ahha. no jo, we're not buying a wedding ring. haha. that got the salesman quite shocked. haha. went to SMU to look arnd... still quite... under construction... and it totally does not look like campus. haha. but maybe that's bcoz i'm in the public area...

being there brought a lot of painful memories and emotions. hate the crap that went thru me. haha, so i ran home in the rain from the bus stop, taking the long route. felt a bit better after that:p

went to watch cirque du soleil last nite:)

had a rather enjoyable time... i guess you could say it's more of the same stuff from them, but the performers somehow manage to make it different for every show... full credit to the creative directors too, who can come up with the ideas and concepts for each of the acts... the little chinese girls with their sticks and funny throwing thing, the clowns with their antics, the man in the hamster wheel, the "mc"-s, the strongman (and WOMAN!), the high wire acts and the acrobats right at the end... all skilled and wonderful... personally, the chinese girls, the acrobats and the clowns were the best... haha.

it's pretty hard to describe the chinese girl act... jst a lot of throwing of stuff and catching it after doing amazing stuff in between. haha. clowns and acrobats... the clowns were quite something. haha. got the audience to participate... haha. freaking funny lah.. had this guy up acting as the illicit lover, another guy from the front row as the jilted boyfriend, a fat guy that kinda reminded me of shaun choo from acs(i) as the director, and jaime teo (think it was her) as the girlfriend. haha. super melodramatic script... and the selected people were made to do rather embarrassing things. haha. speaking of jaime teo, can anybody tell me whether she and daniel ong are a couple? curious. ahha.

the acrobats were really a sight to behold. no safety nets, no trampolines, nothing. and this guy flipped up the height of three or four full grown men... jeex. you could hear the audience suck in the air as he leaped... truly amazing.

wasn't really as catchy as saltimbanco or alegria though... maybe i've grown more cynical as i grow older...

newae, it was quite a list of gliteratti of singapore there... wong li-lin, zoe tay, huang wenyong, mark lee, glenda chong... blah blah blah. but seeing the way they behave... eew. perhaps i'm viewing it thru blinkered eyes, but they seemed rather... shallow. or is that hypocritical? i mean, it's all "hi, hi how are you" but somehow it seems a bit forced... maybe the industry gets to them that way... a pity i didn't see felicia chin anywhere. hahahahahaha. or fiona xie. ehehe

regardless, if u can scrape up the funds, go see it! beg steal or borrow. ahah. but the merchandising is a rip off... be warned... 25 dollars for a program. fwah.

make some sense

best viewed in 1024 X 768 resolution. a brief history about the author pertaining to the theme of shadow of transcendence. it came about in the wee hours of the early morning while being whisked away into memories of the past etched deep within the mind. bittersweetness that tingled the tastebuds of her emotions and feelings, the only way out for true liberation from this reality is what is behind the shadow of transcendence; suicide. the taste of iron-rust blood coiled with the lingering bittersweetness is the only contemplation of which the simplicity of life has to offer in exchange for the shadow of transcendence. made in the heavens through one creator, an angel borne to serve man; fell from where it belonged to earth where its purity shadowed by boredom and nohing better to do.

enjoy what i make out of maturity and childish fantasies.
