hmm... i'm quite amazed at how venal and myopic americans can get. As stated in the Weekend Today, the media are currently hounding presidential hopeful Barack Hussein Obama. He is in line to be the first black (possibly) president. How do they hound him? They draw strange connections. For example, in the Weekend Today article, (January 27-28 issue, page 10), it is stated that a CNN correspondent pointed out that there was only "one little consonant" difference between Obama and Osama. For goodness sake. That's like saying Bush and some redneck called Bash are exactly the same. Or how's this, they decided that because his middle name is Hussein, he should be lumped together with the recently executed/deceased ex-dictator of the same name. Can't see why else they'd wanna keep emphasising the fact of his middle name.

in another article, the Indian government recently invited Big Brother contestant Jade Goody to experience the healing nature of India after she allegedly made racist remarks and used racial slurs on Big Brother contestant Shilpa Shetty. I have no idea why there's such a furore over racist comments made by a Brit. It's not like there aren't people in the country who are racist. And it's not like those numbers are small either. Granted, this statement may be sweeping as there isn't gonna be a census to find out who's racist and who's not. Racism isn't jst confined to the stadiums and limited to targeting the black people.

From those two articles, i'm starting to wonder whether it's just whites as a whole who don't like being challenged by minorities.

hello again blog... seems like it's been quite a while.. haha.

it's been a january of reconnecting i think... with people, friends, blogs...

and yet it's been a january of disconnection also. @*!&($& internet. haha. as well as people i guess... i think this is the end, the point where i draw the line and say i've had it with you.
